About Manuela's Camera Obscura
Welcome to my gallery! I'm an Italian designer and photographer living in Sausalito/San Francisco, California. Having been raised in Europe, I am fluent in a few languages (English, Italian, German, Spanish and a bit rusty in my French), Feel free to write to me in any of those languages if you have any comments, questions, etc.
A bit of my photography background.
I started taking photographs with a little Minolta film camera when I was about 8 years old and have not stopped creating images since. I have done my fair share of film shooting and dark room tinkering. But nowadays I shoot mostly digital and use photo retouching software for editing only as needed unless I want to create digital art vs. photography. My go to camera is my Leica MP240 Safari which I acquired in 2017. I sometimes refer to her as the 'German Tank', heavy and very solid.
I love to shoot various subjects and objects and in general like to compose my frame carefully. I attribute that to my design background and eye for detail. Love the outdoors, water, clouds, sail boats and sailing, mountains and hiking, snow and snowboarding, architecture + design, art, food and wine, traveling and exploring the world when I can and above all creating images with a soul and beauty.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I hope my images speak to your eyes, soul and heart.
